Summary0000242: Banner windows may cause spurious screen wipes in long sessions
DescriptionI've only seen this in Peter Nepstad's "1893: A World's Fair Mystery", so I'm not sure what the exact causes are, but it seems like some calculation of the amount of content in the main window ends up wrong in this particular game at least. The result is that when the visible transcript gets too long and needs to be trimmed, too much content is removed, and this over-trimming get progressively worse as play goes on, until eventually the main window is completely wiped on each such occasion, leaving nothing but a blinking cursor in the top left corner.
Steps To ReproduceIn the aforementioned game, simply start from the beginning and type "look" repeatedly (or "look.look.look.look.look" to speed things up), while keeping an eye on the scroll bar. The first complete wipe happens for me after about eighty repeats of five look commands, using the default text memory setting of 64 kB.

We can also try flooding the transcript with other commands, noting that this doesn't seem to cause any trouble, presumably because those other commands don't update right-side banner window like "look" does.
